IP sender by email

I will explain what I want to do so that you understand why I'm asking this. My computer has a dynamic IP, so each time I turn it on it connects to the web with a different IP. I would like to be able to connect to my PC remotely, but I would need the IP.
So I thought I could do a TSR which only mission would be to check an specify email account. So, when the TSR realizes that on this server exists an email with a subject like "Send IP now!!" (or sth like that) it would response to that email with the IP of the machine, and erase the "requesting email" from the server. All other emails on the server would be leave intact (in the server... it would never download them)
I'm not asking you to right the whole code, I could manage doing it myself, but only if you set me in the right path. Is there any tutorial, example, suggestion or whatever to do this (or a better way to get the IP without all this mess)

You might want to look into a "Dynamic DNS Service" if you're willing to pay for it.

I'm not willing to pay anything. That's why I'm trying to "get" my dynamic IP. I don't know exactly what that means, but I guess (by its name) that this service will "translate" your "Domain Name" to the dynamic IP you've using. Am I right? However, I'm asking to know... I don't want to keep wasting more money.

you could run a cable between the two computers (might need a few repeaters, though).

Ok... what about a viable idea? I would like to be able to "connect" to my computer home from anywhere... And I don't think I have the budget to connect any single computer I could be working on with my machine.

Write a "always running" app that polls the ip address of your computer. If it changes, it connects to a fixed remote server where it updates the ip address. You then can get your current ip address off the remote server from anywhere. Some free web page space would probably be easier than using an email system.
