When I change the suffix on a file in Windows Explorer I get a silly message asking if I'm sure I want to change it. Is it possible to suppress that message?

rather than suppress it, why not act on it and refrain from changing your file extensions.

There certainly is - forget Windows and do it in the DOS shell ;)
