What's the difference between .htm and html???

One letter, an "l".
I think some older computers/OS had some problems with 4 letter file names, so they created .htm instead.
Windows 3.x or earlier and old DOS were limited to the "8.3" filenames. As far a I know, it was never a problem with *nix.

plus IE 3 and below recognises just *.htm (seriously don't think anybody is still using that)
actually I get a lot of visitors to my webpage that are still using IE2. granted it isn't very many but they are still out there.Quote:

I think that IE3 does support .html because i think i remember using it a long time ago and it worked ok for .htm. Besides, if it did not support .html, like over half of the net would not work for them.
