2. When Matthew Gates was still an addicted member?
3. When that person made a speech on how VB sucked... in the VB forum?
4. When there were about 300 members? (an educated guess)
This was April 2000.

I joined when VBW was only a few months old, and there were already more like 3000 members than 300 :eek:

Well, I'd never seen a server busy message, it was a nukem-free zone, and all was right with the world.
The DCB forum was active, and I remember when Megatron and Kedaman became Gurus *thinks back wistfully*

It must have somit to do with John taking the server down.
He turned off the avatars and the seach for a while to help with the old server load.
