I don't care what anyone says...Microsoft rule
I read something really interesting in the paper a couple of days ago. MS are planning to give Win XP to home users for free, nada, nothing!! Business users have to cough up **** loads though. I couldn't believe it!!
Microsoft and free never go in the same sentence unless you are on a Warez site...(not that i ever am...ahem...)
Straight up, I had to read it three times to get over the shock. I'll try and find the article...
sure the paper wasn't dated 'April 1st' or titled 'if you read this you are stoopid'
Anyway those Microsoft guyz always like to shock us...
Well the article headline was "Believe this and your a dickhead" but it was in Wed's edition of the respectible Times.
Found it! The bit of interest is in bold at the bottom
Microsoft said: “We must continue to add features and functionality, or else no one is going to want our product.”
It is thought that Microsoft spent $1 billion (£700 million) developing Windows XP. The computer industry is banking on it to boost sales in the run up to Christmas.
The program is the first to be developed by Microsoft for both home and office users. Microsoft is already claiming that the program offers more extra features than before, and is less likely to crash than previous versions of Windows.
The vast majority of home and office computers around the world already use Microsoft operating systems.
The new version of the software will be out on October 25, and is expected to be free to consumers. Microsoft plans to spend twice the amount to launch Windows XP as it cost to launch Windows 95 in 1995. Critics of Microsoft argue that by bundling its own free software with Windows it gets an automatic monopoly and pushes rivals out of the market.
surely it meant to say:
The beta version is out October 25th...
but that can't be right.
can we really believe our sources?
Oh wait, hang on, false alarm. Read the last sentence!! I was blinded by the free to consumers bit. DAMN!!!!!!!
 My regards to the person who voted 'Microsoft? Never heard of it!'
My friend, you have proven the impossible...the only downlfall is Billy boy won't include you in his will for the many-a-billion-bucks!! :D
he he, that was me!
and the last bit was...Quote:

...6 posts up from this one
Well, I don't really have anything against Microsoft. Some people hate them because they are all about money, but hey, if they make good products why not use them?
and "if pigs flew" :p:p
People with a total record of 2 posts shouldn't say things like this, unless you are someone who just made a new ID to say something anonymously :PQuote:

Anyways, y'know, if Microsoft gets the order to split up, I'm gonna head a 'Microsoft Movement' in Washington. That stupid court is stooooooopid if it rules that MS is to be broken up! Whaddaya say, gang?! :)
:P
But seriously, think... Netscape, or IE?
Opera!!
IE sucks, but there's no reasonable alternative
Totally agree with Ked on this one - IE5.5 is absolutely the most buggy app I have ever used, it's abysmal, but Netscape sucks so much ass that I can't bring myself to use it, and Opera... well yeah. I want features! I just have to remember what makes IE crash and not do it.
Ever tried Notepad?Quote:

If you ask nicely he'll transfer the old posts over to the new username
I would have to agree with Dax, honeybee et. al. I actually rather like Microsoft! And I really like IE too, and it rarely, if ever, crashes in my experience!
Notepad is definitely the most usefull, fastest and smallest program you get when buying windows :)
btw: IE crashes very often when I'm sufing on the forums here... * proofed fact!
I can't right click and select properties on anything in IE. I'll try it now.
Uhhh..... okay it worked  That doesn't usually happen. Really ;)
Hehehe...Notepad :) Nice program, but needs 200mb runtimes :p
I'm not actually bothered about MS. Yeah, their stuff gets fatter every time round, but it works for me. I used to be a Netscape user until IE4, at which point I started using that because "it came with it" and was just as good, if not better. I do have the latest Mozilla milestone, just for keeping up with developments, which are looking very promising.
And I just loooove Windows Installer. Very nice piece of work :)
I use Win2k (SP-2) and it *ahem* has crashed on me about 3 to 4 times in the past 1 year. IE totally rocks and netscape totally sucks!!
And to any of you guys who are gonna say 'anyone can do it'...well, if anyone can do it, why is Microsoft at the top and not 'anyone'!! :)
Your computer and the OS (Especially) is like your child. You have to take care of it, maintain it, keep extra diapers (Back-ups) and just be NICE to it and it will never crash.:D
Without microsoft, we'd be nowhere, hell even my Driver's License (India - Gujarat State) is made by Microsoft's core. Its a digital Smart Card (refer to MSDN Library @ http://msdn.microsoft.com/library)
MICROSOFT ROCKS - PERIOD!! or FULLSTOP if you prefer that. ;)
Riiiiighht..... okaaaaaaay.
MICROSOFT BLOW - FULLSTOP (i do prefer that)
