Is VB going out the door?

I read in the InterActiveWeek magazine today where people are saying that VB usage is on the decline and will be replaced by Delphi and others.

What do you think?

It probably is declining in its current state....
but when .NET is realeased there will be a surge of vb need because of all the power Microsoft has added to VB..
It will pass delphi and kylix. Not that i don't like Delphi.. its fun to work with...

Anyone else want to vote please?

I guess what im kinda of saying is not to put all your eggs in one basket.

VB is great, is my favorite language to use and the one im best in... but you have to spread yourself out....
i actually got better at VB after i learned delphi and did some work with it. I guess i just love learning diffrent languages.. its fun and challenging... It makes me more usefull at work which in turn makes me more valueable to the people i work for...which means im more appreciated for what i do.

i also love progarming in VB but fond people look down at it as its not as powerfull and as quick as other langueages such as C, C++..

i still preffer it and will love to see beter version of vb introduced!!

btw what all .NET about:confused:

I think that as long as Bill Gates is like Leonardo DiCaprio (I am the king of the world!!!), VB is going to be on top. How can spend more money in research and development than Microsoft? I don´t think that we have to worry (as VB developers) for a long time.

By the way, the slogan of Microsoft should be:
"If you can´t beat the enemy, buy it"

I doubt it's goin' on the decline. It's a popular language, more than you think. I bet more than half the people here, know VB along with other languages. But VB is their favorite, as it is, mine :).

Could be wrong on that, but everybody loves their Visual Basic, especially in the mornin' with a nice hot choclate (i hate coffee :rolleyes: ), and some nice code ;).
