I'm writing VB6 code and we have a Canon iR550 copier/printer. I need to programatically send a command to the printer that tells it that I want the print job I am about to send to be stapled. I was wondering if there was an api call that did something like this.

contact the people who made the printer and ask them for the escape sequences that do this...
And if you're using the Printer object to print, it may intercept and not pass on some stuff (it's called passthru vs. no-passthru) in an escape sequence. It depends on the driver and some other things.
