I heard the Republicans are going to hold hearings on how long Obama knew about that Oklahoma tornado...
any source ? or its just came to your mind ?
It's supposed to be a joke. On top of being quite lame it's also way too soon. Some people just can't resist using any event to score political points no matter how tragic.
is it sooo????
I fail to see how the two events are even remotely related except using them both to express your hatred.
I've had second thoughts about this thread and any others I've started like it. From this point forward politics and commentary are going to be off limits to me as far as this site goes.
Too soon? I don't suppose it's nearly as black as the jokes the people of the town are coming up with right now, many on the subject of the priorities of government local and national. Gallows humour will always be a popular and effective release and relief in disaster areas. The last thing I suspect that anybody contemplating life without a home today requires is for us to be over-sensitive to a little bad taste on their behalf.
I don't think there is a too soon. The day my mother died, my father made something of a joke on the way from the airport after picking me up. Frankly, even forced humor serves a purpose. In this case, though, the joke comes from something other than the tornado. The joke is about the general anger towards Congress, which is something that hasn't died down.
I was over in Yellowstone for a few days of sodden wandering among hydrothermal features, which I find rather interesting. I was totally out of touch for days, and knew nothing of the tornado until I saw that the CBS morning show had canceled their planned broadcast from Yellowstone due to "the tradgedies in Oklahoma." Being so out of touch, I had to ask what they were talking about. I'm kind of used to that, though with some of the hikes I go on. It's always interesting to hear what has changed when I return.
Hmmm.... Shaggy goes on a hike, there is a tornado in Oklahoma.... conclusion - Shaggy's hike caused tornado in OK...
Is this the "Shaggy Effect?"

You may be onto something: I go on hikes in the summer....and tornados take out towns in summer. I never put the two together before.
