Hi everyone, I'm having this problem I can't solve. Recently I installed a program that made crash various others (Visual Studio, Office, SQL server, Acrobat reader).
I reinstalled them all and they work great, except for Visual Basic.
Controls and properties have dissapeared, look at the image. Everything works fine, I don't get any errors, but i cant't work either. Look that a DataGridView is selected, propierties should be shown.

Try this: On the Tools menu click on Import/Export settings (or something equal, can't really remember the exact name for VS2008) and select to reset all settings. Restart VS.
Thanks, i forgot to say that i had already done that. Nothing happened. :(
OK, try to clearing this folder: %AppData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0
(take a backup first)
I don't see the property grid window in that screen shot. Is it refusing to open ?
Whole system crashed! Installing everything again...
Yes, both the property window and the control combobox over it were empty

Wow....I think at this point you should consider a clean Windows re-install. This seems like an exceptional circumstance. Can't tell you when if ever I experienced installing software only to have it crash 3/4s of my OS. Who really knows what it did.Quote:
