Yep.. Well actually I was looking for some code and I happened to see this mug with the "Who wants to be a Millionaire" logo...
I thought it was funny as hell!!! :D
Yeah! We're subjected to him over here, his names Regis Philbin (no relation to Maggie I suspect) and has a smarmy little b*stard.Quote:

She's not exactly a superstar is she?!
I can garauntee that he is not as annoying as Chris "ho-ho" Tarrant (the ho-ho is an impression of his ultimately annoying laugh that he includes as much as he can!!)
I'm actually a Scot. Only immigrated to Canada a couple of years ago, so I know all your dark secrets;)Quote:

I would bet that you couldn't find a more annoying person than Regis Philbin! He and George W. are rivals as far as the smarmy competition.
I don't know! This guy can get pretty buggin. He keeps saying "Is that your final answer?" for every bloomin question.Quote:

Which of the following is a Latin Dance and can also a type of food condiment.
a) Salt
b) Pepper
c) Mustard
d) Salsa
Would you believe the guy got it wrong!

I know someone who went to the US and saw Millionaire over there. He said he now realises that Tarant is actually quite good. All the suspense and tension he creates, that Philbin just can't do. He also said that it is no wonder there have been 6 jackpot winners and only 2 here (and no I'm not saying we're stupid)
There was a big article on it here in Canada a few months ago comparing the two. The questions in the American show are much easier, but it's because the Americans wont watch a show which doesn't have winners constantly. (Thats not a slag against Americans - I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but it is certainly a different mind set).Quote:

I believe the Russian version stopped going to the audience for a life-line as they were deliberatly giving the wrong answers - different mind set again!

It is a bit suspicious that whene ver the ratings flag over here, somebody wins the million.
They were bringing that game show with Anne Robinson over on a rival network on the same night, and surprisingly someone won the million on the same night!! Coincidence?
SD
Yeah that thing about the Russians is true, but guess what the top price is in the Russian version....I'll give you a clue by saying it is called "Who Wants to be Fabulously Wealthy" (note not "....... Millionaire")
The closest answer wins some fun.
A million potatoes?
no, you do get money...just not quite a million. Remember this is the jackpot, what you get for answering all 15...
That new Weakest Link show is just scary! Have you seen the Fem-Nazi that is hosting it????? She's the stuff nightmares are made of!!!!!!!!!!!
before I go, the top price on the Russian "Who wants to be fabulously wealthy" is.......<drum roll>
32 quid. Yes, that's right 1300 Roubles which is £32 (or US$46 if you're that way inclined).
1,000,000 Rubels (or whatever)
about $2.24 at present conversion rate.
SD
Anne Robinson is my hero. And she dissed the Welsh which was funny. Fem-Nazi, that's an interesting name for her. Perhaps "The Next Margaret Thatcher" is also a good name...Quote:

She used to do "Points of View" which is a BBC programme where people write in and complain and she always gave really bitchy sarcastic answers to the letters.
SD
Is it?
In India it is titled "Who Will Become a Holder of 10 Million (rupees)? " in Russia it is known as "Oh Lucky Man!"
I presume in Russia they get 10 million rupees?
Maybe it switched to another network since I read that because the prize was so low.
What was it you read?
They said the Russian version was called "Who wants to be fabulously wealthy" and the top prize was 1300 Russian roubles ($46)
You'd have to make it alot more, if thry're expecting me to put up with bloody Chris Tarrant!!!!!
And YES, that is my final answer!!!
He's the last thing you need after a bad, or a good come to think of it.
after a bad or good what????:confused:Quote:

Disturbing, really
She definitely scares me!!!
The Indian Version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire is..
Kaun Banega Crorepathi
{Which translates to who wants to be a Crorepathi ?}
Crorepathi = Owner of 10 Million Rupees = US $213000
1 Crore = 10 Million
But Recently they have changed the game making it a
Game for Couples.
