Hi I need to know what kind of database is this. I put the link because is 20mb. I need star a new job. Please help me. I need to open it and transfer to other database newer access, excell, dbase, etc.

How about you tell us a bit about it rather than just attaching a rar file, for example what is the file name or if more than one file the filenames for starters
The RAR contains a single file "RECAXACU" (no extension) of 106MB.
Notepad++ opened it (a lot more quickly than Win32Pad. It blew up standard Notepad, LOL) and it's all binary bric-a-brac with nothing I recognise. I hope this quoted sample from the start of the file doesn't break anything....

Who did you get it from?
Why can't you ask them what sort of database it is?
With the best will in the World, very few people are going to download a totally unknown, 20MB file without having some idea of what's in it.

RMKF files seem to be a loose family of ISAM file formats dating back to RM/Cobol. But it appears that over time various versions came about and some vendors "forked" the format with their own extensions. So without knowing what created the file it can be rough to know how to convert it to something you can use.
One older ETL (extract, transform, load) product that was often bundled with PC-based Cobol compilers is Data Junction. It can convert between a number of file formats including several RMKF variations. I'm not sure you can still buy it as a separate product though.
You might search for current ETL products. One of them might handle your file.
This gives some more info on the database.
Sadly that info isn't true - or at least not solid. The RMKF file might be RM-Cobol. Or it might be an incompatible Fujitsu Cobol indexed file. Or it might be something else.Quote:
