Sorry Niel...I don't seem to be able to edit the poll to add another option. Your reply is duly noted however!

BTW, usually by touch.
Bit of both here too, but mainly by touch. I do make quite a few mistakes if I'm not looking where my fingers are, but I can pretty much type without looking. I'm faster looking where my fingers are though.
Ditto.Quote:

Where's the "smothered in marmalade, surrounded by young swedish virgins licking it off while quaffing from a never ending supply of Belhaven Best beer" option?
:p
I opened this thread expecting something completely different
Hunt 'n' Peck, BTW :) And have done since I was 8...60WPM isn't too bad for me :)
How come the poll still says 0 on hunt and peck then?
'Coz I forgot to vote

He does seem to be fascinated with SurfDemon...look at his location.
Well, I do a little bit of both. I hunt and peck, but it goes so fast it doesn't really look that way (i. e., I have to look at my hands when I type).
I use touch, but I prefer to look at the keys, and i do make quite alot of mistakes when i aint looking.
Si.
The number of conotations to this thread are numerous and amount. I look at what my hands are doing, but I know where everything is. With big long/hard-to-spell words, I tend to look at the screen and make sure it looks right whilst I'm typing it.
I voted for Touch, because I am capable of doing it when there is a lot of straight typing to be done.
Computer applications tend to make you look, because there are so many times that your fingers get off the home keys to use Trackball, hold multiple keys, insert diskettes or CD's, et cetera.
Often getting off the home keys gets you in the habit of looking to find them again. Then you tend to peek while typing.
Damn, lead with my jaw on that one.Quote:

i can touch type a lot of coursework has enable to me to do this, but i don't have my fingers on any of the home keys i just know where the keys are :)
Touch type here...It is strange how you can know you have typed wrong without looking to the screen nor keyboard! Just face looking into a paper and there you copy without looking to screen at all. This comes automatically after ten years of experience with somekind of computer.
Said somekind, because I can't rate C64 a computer nowadays, can I? It's a good machine though :D
