Graphics Drivers For Windows Server
Hello!
I just installed Windows Server 2008 on my laptop to use as a "Home Server", but I'm having problems installing drivers. More particularly, I'm having problems with my graphics drivers. I know my laptop has ATI Radeon HD 5470 graphics, as well as some onboard intel graphics. I downloaded them, but I always receive an error saying my OS is not support. I tried using Windows 7 Drivers, but they also failed. I'm just trying to be able to use an external monitor instead of my laptop monitor. Any Help?
Re: Graphics Drivers For Windows Server
windows home server is no longer supported in any way by anyone, and was never designed to be ran with a monitor anyway. You were given trivial support of the monitor for install purposes but after that the system is designed to have the monitor removed and you are to remote-desktop into it if you need to mess with it and change all settings through a web-server interface.
Re: Graphics Drivers For Windows Server
Home Server 2011 is based on Server 2008 R2 and supported through 4/2016, more than a year after Win7 falls off mainstream support.
The older Home Server version based on Server 2008 went off support 1/2013 though other Server 2008 SKUs don't lose mainstream support until 1/2015.
These both work fine with a local monitor, which is fully supported. I have two of them so I know. But the OP didn't ask about the Home Server products anyway.
As far as I can tell AMD's notebook GPUs do not have drivers for server OSs though:
