Vacation / Leave Request

Hi guys,
Can somebody help me please, I'm trying to find how to make a vacation / leave request. An allowable number of vacation day for each date. For example Jan 2 the only allowable number of person that may have a vacation for that they will just be 3. Im trying to use the calendar thing or if you have a better idea please dont hesitate to tell me or if there is a site where I can use as an example please help me. Number of vacation leaves will show up for each dates, the person can just click the date and a form will show up to be filled. BTW i'm trying to use an access database.

Why not use a database to keep track of the info?

That is what actually i'm trying to do. I'm trying to use the calendar connected to access database. Im really not sure how to do it. Holiday and leave request will depend on the allowable slot per day / month / week.
