Decrypt a file

I have a file that I want to decrypt....I'm not sure how it was encrypted...

Any ideas on where to start?

well, if you don't know how it was encrypted it could be tough as hell to figure it out, but someone here will probably prove me wrong...:D

crptcblade's right, without an idea of how it was encrypted, you'd be there all year trying to work it out (unless it was ASCII number for char swap:D)

Are there any types of encryption that are used more often than others I could try to decrypt it wth?
