Hey all. I don't see many 3D engines written in VB, so I figured you might like to check out an Image Of The Day from flipCode a few days ago:
http://www.flipcode.com/cgi-bin/msg....rum=iotd&id=-1
The guy used VB and DX8. Source code is available for download he says.

Yeah, great engine written in VB, gets up to 60FPS !!!!!
... spec required for fps=60 4xXeon 1500MHz CPUs with 2 MB Cache on-chip, 4Gb RDRAM, 2xGeForce 3 maxed out with on board vram .....

Methinks I sense sarcasm...
Actually, I got a VB engine up and running at around 33 FPS on an 8 meg ATI card, and a 550 overclocked P3. Then again, its clipped at 80m, with lots of fog, and the player was just a 4 triangle pyramid...

Can't get it to work.. even not in Fullscreen mode - I only see a blank screen and the info on top (150 fps btw ;))
-
That's 'cuz you got a darned fast computer and video accelerator, Fox !! :D
-
looks definitely cool, i get between 90 and 130 fps with 32M RivaTNT2, Athlon 600

Terrain engines are nice and all, but I prefer to play God by not only making the world, but inhabiting it =).
