I'm trying to activate the Package and Deployment Wizard. I when I check it in the Components, Controls box I get an message box stating that there was an error in loading DLL. I want to run it so I can install my program on another machine.
Any takers.

Microsoft VB 6.0 Enterprise Edition
MS Access 97
DAO
What is the exact error??
When I go to activate it from the Component Control Box a message box appears saying, "Error loading DLL."

You are going to the wrong place if you want the PDW to package your program.
Go to Add-Ins / Add-in Manager select PDW and check the Loaded checkbox. Click OK, Click the Add-In and select the PDW. When you went to Components, you were indicating that you were going to include the PDW IN your project instead of using it FOR your project.
I suggest that you use the Visual Studio Installer that you can download for free at microsoft. I don't know the exact address of the download, so you may have to make a search for it. The download is about 9 MB. The visual studio installer has many advantages over the Package and deployment wizard because it packages your program into one folder and includes a classic microsoft setup for your program before download.

Absolutely. PDW is going away. For Win '98, Win ME and Win 2000, the MSI (Microsoft Installer) is "recommended". VSI produces .MSI files for you. VSI will not work on machines (Win '95 w/o VB6 or MSDN installed) that do not have MSI installed.
