Funny Excel keyboard shortcut
I had an Excel spreadsheet and meant to hit ctrl+tab but hit ctrl+\ instead. Thereafter a number of changes occurred (the appearance changed, columns became larger, cells didn't respond to some format commands, formulas were considered text, etc) but undo was disabled. Anyone knows what that key combination is intended for and how to go back without having to exit without saving and starting Excel back?
Re: Funny Excel keyboard shortcut
I cannot find Ctrl+\ in the default Excel shortcuts http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...001111659.aspx
I think it is a shortcut for macro inside the spreadsheet as far as it do such many things!

Could you re-toggle the state afterwards so that the changes were back the the way they were back you hit the toggle switch?

Yes but, if you make some changes after ctrl \ -say you modify the width of a column- then when you toggle back this width has not the original value.
At any rate, try it out by yourself.
I should mention however that I'm using a Spanish keyboard in which the \ character is in the top leftmost key unlike a US keyboard
(see for instance: http://www.wesleyan.edu/CTWMellon/graphics/spankey.jpg)
