Is this thread, name the person, or persons, who make it hard for you to get near a computer.
My example is the my school librarian, who's paranoid that I'll put a viruses in her computers. So the people who are best with computers cannot use them at school easily. :rolleyes:
I was told by the dean, Mrs. Ribas that since I was good, the librarian was afraid. I have a bullseye on my head everytime the computers catch a virus!! :eek:
Myself. Cruising these forums too much means I get no work done!
The School librarian in my school loses her mud when I get near the computer. She always thinks im hacking the network. It must be a librarian thing:rolleyes:

Yeah, librarians have got it in for us haven't they? My IT teacher is wary of me, he doesn't want to give me too much control. Once I told him in minute detail how I could crash his entire, precious, new NT network with even minimum restrictions. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I got told off and nearly banned from the computer rooms when i was at school coz i was using the find files box and it was't on the start menu so the teacher thought i was hacking the network :eek: A bit worrying seen as tho he was an it teacher.
You can just press F3. The network I'm talking about is totally locked down, they've learned from experiance. After a certain person did a lot of damage a few years back, with a nasty batch file.
I know, or windows key and f, which is what i did, but they thought that coz they had taken it off the start menu that i was hacking the network, which obviously, i was't.
I can print things to the school printers from home :D
I got banned from the computers at my old school ages ago for causing trouble :) They were the old macs running system 6...I introduced everyone to the wonders of MultiFinder...Brickles behind ClarisWorks and the teachers thought that you could only have 1 program up at a time :p

Well there's a "computer room", and I can't go there ever since I used the notepad-like program which lets you hack web servers (in other words, ever since I used telnet to read email because they didn't let me "change the Outlook Express settings").
Those teacher people never learn :rolleyes:
Oh well, they forgot all about it now, does anybody have suggestions for what to bring next time I go there (not soon enough)?

In our school we could print things out in rooms in another part if the building we were printing out loads iof funny messages and no one tracked it to us...it makes me feel warm inside :D

My worst enemy, mom's boyfriend David, has placed a spying utility in my computer. Atleast it seems so. He said "Big brother is watching you.", and something is chewing down my harddisk's space. It seems that it might be taking pictures of what I do. And recording keystrokes. I need soemone to help me remove it. It display a message at the start of the computer, instead of the windows loading picture, it has a pictures that says "Virus alert", and it in red and there something like a red radar. The background of it is black. There are no traces of it in the autoexec.bat or the startup folder. It might be in the registry, but I don't know how to chek that.

Try going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and look for anything suspicious..
you might also try editing your win.ini and uncheck anything there that might be suspicious.
Press ctrl-alt and delete, and check if its in the task list. If it's there, just kill it and that should do enough I think. Or uninstall it if it's in the list of installed software in add/remove programs. You can see everything that's run at startup by going start->run and typing "msconfig". The last tab (startup) is stuff that's in the registry.
He didn't place any program, but he did place the virus screen. I checked through his internet history. Now I'm gonna leave a nice present. He won't beother me anymore if there's a bug might run loose in his comp.:D
OK first thing's first. It probably won't like you editing the registry, while it's running, so boot up in safe mode. Then click, start, run and type:
regedit and press enter.
Click HKEY_CURRENT_USER and find you way to:
Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\
Then click all the 'directories' beginning with Run, one by one. If you see anything on the left hand panel that is definately the program then remove it, and it won't run when you next boot up.
Other directories you want to try are:
HKEY_USERS\[your user name here]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\
and the things begining with Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\
and the things begining with Run.
If you are not sure it's the program, then select it's path and click file, export registry file. and save it to a file. If it all goes wrong, boot back into safe mode and double click the .reg file.
The key to finding these programs is Safe Mode, or better still a raw DOS prompt.

The startup tab will show everything thats starting up EXCEPT things in the system.ini shell line. If there is a file path to a program in the system.ini (in the windows directory) on the same line that says shell=explorer.exe but after it, it wont be in msconfig. Thats how lots of viruses and trojans make sure they get started up coz that loads even when you are in safe mode :eek:Quote:

I feel that is more waste of time being in school than to be in the forum. (Note: I'm talking about portuguese school)

Go down to the line that starts shell= (should be about 6-7 lines down ithink).
Then to add for example c:\myprog1.exe just click to the end of the line, add a space and type it in, for example
shell=explorer.exe
would becomes:
shell=explorer.exe c:\myprog1.exe
Then just file and save.
It wont mess it up but i would still back the file up first just in case.
