Dunno what made me try to see if the old place was still here, and Lo! not only is it, but I remembered my password.
Apparently I've not been here since April 2005.
Have you all missed me?

I thought of you every day.
Hey, Jim! Good to have you back.
How's life in SA these days?
ID!
It's much the same as always I guess.... my family's getting older as am I! My son's 19 this weekend and is a fire-fighter / paramedic. He did some local qualifications but is in the throes of signing up with the UK's Institute of Fire Engineering where his remote studies will lead to a degree and registration as a CEng if he takes it all the way. Daughter has 2 1/2 years of high school to go and her plan is to study engineering at MIT... not sure if that fits in with my financial plans but we'll see!
And how's things with you?
Jim
Not much change here either. I've moved through a couple of jobs and ended up in one that's fairly close to home, so no more two-hour commute into London. My son's now nearly 15 and is already my height and planning on a career doing "something with physics". My daughter's a couple of years younger and is equally keen on maths and Spanish, so no idea what she's going to end up doing. Either way, with university fees getting higher, I'm in for an expensive decade or so.
Other than that, I seem to have spent an awfully long time being rained on.
"university fees getting higher, I'm in for an expensive decade or so." -- I've told mine they need to start learning a hobby or getting better in school... they're going to need all the scholarships and grants they can get... I can't even afford to send myself back to school at the moment, let alone paying for the two of them...

Me neither so I just hang around outside the gates in a scruffy mac. The parents don't seem to like it but I reckon I'm just learnin' by osmosis.Quote:

2005 to 2012.Let me think....Ah, in 2005 Greece was one of the fastest growing economy's and i was making a lot of money selling crappy software because everyone was buying anything, money didn't matter. In 2012 Greece has one of the worst economies in the globe and i am making a lot less money selling quality software that almost no one is buying because money matters.Other than that we are fine thank you(at least we have one of the most beautiful summer country's).
