try this link here
Anyone have a msdn subscription they want to lend me so I can download a copy of vbnet?
[email protected]
Just order the disc all you have to pay is the shipping and handling and it saves you a download.
That link requires Subscription.....
And Besides, it would be quicker for me to download instead of waiting for shipment (cheaper too) :) because i have cable, so if anyone can tell me where to download it, it would be greatly appreciated
i have cable i do not have a subscrition to MSDN and i could not find a place to download it but i was able to have it sent to me from that site so there must be somting that you are over looking on that site i sent you exactly where i went ot get the sofware but it does cost you shipping and handling. which means you need a credit card.
Regards,
E.P.
i also think it is only availible in the us and Canada so it might not come up the same when you go there.
I am in Aus, and It looks as though i'll just have to wait :(
Hey man, follow the link that was posted, then click the 'Worldwide Customers' link....not surprisingly that allows people like you and I, who are not from North America to order a copy....
guess us Kiwis are just smarter than you Aussies eh! :)
yea it is like that for the 128 encryption thing. they are picky who they give that to somthing about national security. :D
The best way to hide something is to make it so obvious that everyone overlooks it!! ;)
Just like that one episode of Wishbone
Especially when it comes to sheep shagging:rolleyes:Quote:

Anyone ordered the Beta 1 CD in OZ yet. The locals at MS would appear to have problems finding their own asses with both hands.
Or download.Quote:

greetz
It doesn't matter if your in OZ. Go to the site and download the files, (takes approx 3 hours). We are still have grief installing them, but hey its a beta.
Jethro bashes head against desk, and boots rubbish bin out the window.
All
If you look through the foreign ordering thing, you will note no mention of Pacifix/Australisa/Oceania or whatever. Clearly MS ain't that concerned about our business. Hello Borland!!!!!
Got there latest beta (Delphi), loaded, up and running, no problems no extra downloads needed. MS suck!
I downloaded it from a link, someone had in their signature...
Unfortunately I had to reformat my computer and lost the actual beta file.
If the person that knows the direct link to the download page, is still using these forums, could they please post the address here.
!Usefull for people outsite the USA and using non-english windows-version!
Vb.net needs an english windows2000 version...!
Ok, 9 out of 10 people use an english version, but if you don't, then je can't install vs.net 7.0 beta 1
greetz
Attend one of the MSDN Meeting and they give the Beta 1 CDs away for free. By the way, Beta 2 is coming out in June, so maybe you should wait.
NOT, you can install it on win9x machines also. but they don't want you to install it on a machine that you use all the time because it is still in beta form. I don't know about the english part of it.Quote:

I have the link to where you can download vs.net
but you have to wait until I get off work, here in a half an hour.
First: The link you posted is a link to the .NET Framework SDK. Not vs.NET.Quote:

Second: To install vs.NET you need to do a componentupdate. The component-update includes windows2000 SP1. Windows2000 SP1 can't be installed on win9x. So the component-update will fail and vs.NET won't complete successfull.
That was the link that Da_silvy was talking about. I got it off the same signature.Quote:
from Microsoft
Beta 1 has been tested on the Microsoft Windows® 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Windows NT® Server and Windows NT Workstation version 4.0, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows 98 operating systems
you are half right Morphman2000, You can install it on win98 machines, BUT Web application development and some server-side components require Windows NT or Windows 2000.
i didn't actually install the copy that i downloaded, so i am unsure of whether i should download from that link
