Does format can destroy your HDD???
It won't if you only format once, but if you format too much, it starts to drain the life from your HDD...
even a quick format?
quick formats will not destroy your HDD, it deletes nothing, it just lets the computer write over any part of the HDD..
It overwrites part of the drive.
Using the DOS UNFORMAT command, you can retrieve it.
I've formatted 2 times, & performed this command & retrieved it, NAMA or the USA ARMY (I forget which :p) reckon they can retrieve a disk thats been formatted upto 8 times
Where can I get this unformat program?
You've got it :D
Restart your PC into TRUE dos mode in a crash &
type Unformat C:
cool :D
I used to format quite a bit (before i got win2k) but now i hardly ever. Anyway, i must have formatted the one i have in there now at least 10 times, and it still works fine. :D
I'm not sure how many formats before you kill your HDD, I'll talk to a friend of mine and see if he knows....
Low level formats.. kill your Hard Disk fast.. I've done it once  when my boot sector was in trouble
