Hi, has anyone used the release candidate of the server?
I have a simple question that concerns if it underacts with the previous versions in any way(have both 2005,2008 installed),so obviously i wouldn't want that.
Thanks.

I haven't used it but I can't see any reason that it would cause an issue. It's possible to have all previous versions installed side-by-side so I can't see why that would change now. That said, they do caution against installing non-release software on production systems, so I tend to install betas and RCs on VMs.
Aha, that's a good advice.I don't have much space or power for VM but i have sources to go and see 3 SQL Servers side by side in VMware.
You can install all 3 versions, but only have one of them "ON" at any time, just turn off the others...
How do you mean?I don't change anything is SQL 2005-2008 and they work fine side by side.
I mean so they don't take too much resources (if you don't have much RAM), you can always install all of them, but leave the service on only the one that you currently work with.
Ah, this cannot happen as in production i need to run at least 2 SQL Servers.
I've only read about incredible performance enhancements with SQL Server 2012...
