PC won't boot! No hard drive found
My PC was open and i was doing work when suddenly a beep and then the PC crashed...
When I tried to reboot it, no hard drive found. I entered the setup during restart and even there I can't find a hard drive device.
I tried other hard drive and it worked so my conclusion was:
cables mainboard power supply are all good..
 MY harddrive is broken!!!???
Anything I can do to diagnose or to restore or repair or to even to take one last glimpse of the contents just to get some important files then it can totally break?? Anyone here know any restoration?
I'm desperately needed those files.
Re: PC won't boot! No hard drive found
Attempt to place that hard drive within an enclosure or inside of a different computer, that is general the sign of a failing or failed hard drive.
Re: PC won't boot! No hard drive found
i've tried placing the drive in other pc and it can't be found either. so it's likely hard drive failure. knowing that, can i extract my data from there in any way?
Re: PC won't boot! No hard drive found
I'm afraid that your HDD has gone South. If it can't be seen in BIOS, there's not much you can do to salvage the data but to turn to the professionals, which always costs an arm and a leg.
Re: PC won't boot! No hard drive found
First time something like this happened to me, I did not learn my lesson. (lost everything)
Second time, (lost about 20% of my stuff), since then ALL my drives are RAID 1.
Right now I have an SSD as C drive where I only have the OS and some unimportant files. I have 4 HDs in total, in pairs of 2 as RAID 1, where I keep my important stuff...
Re: PC won't boot! No hard drive found
I have no idea how savvy you are in terms of diagnosing the micro components on a hard drive but I have found that on Seagate drives, the main power circuit usually fails. It typically can be a 2 dollar item that needs soldered in. As was mention previously, to pay someone for this service is usually cost prohibitive.
