I think it's actually a google site. I tried a search on it ("What is Googla") and it did a genuine Google search.
Kinda weird though...
It's not a google site.... I don't think Google would have a link that reads "Free Article Directory for Submit Your Articles and Get More Backlinks" .... and if you look at the source... the link of the text I mentioned goes to bjstar.com ... which strikes a bell with me... I think they are a marketing company. It's not a phishing site... as the google links in the nav at the top are all going to legit google sites... it looks like they simply copied the G.com page and replaced the middle part with their own ad.

Thanks for checking it guys
But isn't that against their policies to replicate their design ?
A little info on this fake google page. http://www.technibble.com/fake-google-page/
The real question is what browser are you using that you still have to first type in google.com in the address bar to get to google to then type in your search query???
Doing a whois search on the domain shows it is not registered to Google.

I'm using Google Chrome.
But when someone(relatives) asks me to do a google search(ie. when I'm using the computer), I used to quickly type "Google.com" and type the query which they want to search for. Otherwise, they might see some of my recently visited/bookmarked site names while I type the search query in the address bar(because of the autosuggest offered by chrome). :p
But if you try typing "googel.com", it will automatically get redirected back to Google's home page. :p
For Chrome Browser.
Go to Options > Basics > Home page > Select Open this page > Type www.google.com and hit enter. Close the options page.
Open a new tab and use Alt + Home to open the google home page directly. Thats it.
It automatically redirects to google.com
Why do you think they invented incognito mode?
