In order to develop Metro style applications, the Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview must be installed on the Windows Developer Preview with developer tools English, 64-bit. Developing Metro style applications on other Preview versions of Windows 8 is not supported.
This won't bother a lot of people interested in VS for non-Metro purposes.
It does mean even a Win8 Preview machine with the "thinner" 32- or 64-bit ISOs can't do this either. I think the "64-bit with Dev Tools" ISO has a bit more on it than VS 11.

The only two major differences I see is the Await keyword that might spare you some keystrokes. And the Iterator keyword, which is kind of neat, but I don't really know what a practical use for it is.
Re: Visual Studio 2011 Developer preview Avalible for Download
I receive a setup block message when running the vs_ultimate.exe. Any ideas on how to bypass this? I have tried adding the vs_ultimate.exe to the allowed list of the firewall but it didn't solve the problem.
