New to VB need help with some code Please help.

I am trying to build what shouls have been simple and quick to help my mom out but I am struggling with it now any help will be apprcieated. I am having problems with adding dollar values in a database to give a total to start off with. like I said i am new at this.

Are you using VB.NET or an earlier version of VB?
