[RESOLVED] Excel 2003 Pie Chart Labels
Attached is a pie chart made in Excel 2003 (I didn't make it originally) that I have to keep up each month.
The legend for the chart is located in A2:A6
The values are located in B2:B6
The values all appear to be correctly displayed in the pie.
Until this month, the legends were also correctly displayed.
However, this month, the text in A6 changed (all the rest remined the same). If you hover your mouse over the blue area that presents this text location, a tool tip will appear with the correct text it in (which is what currently resides in A6). However, the chart still displays what the text in A6 was last month, and I can not for the life of me figure out why it is not displaying what is currently in A6.
Why does the chart appear to know what should be there, but not display it?
Re: Excel 2003 Pie Chart Labels
I cannot download your file at work (blocked) but I know why: Somehow, last month or before that, you accidently did a "slow double-click" to edit that particular data label that made it becomes a static (fixed) label and no longer auto updates when the values in the table change.
To fix it:
Right-click on the chart and select [Chart Options...]
Select [Data Labels] tab
Make sure the checkbox [Automatic text] is checked (the 3rd checkbox from the bottom)
Re: Excel 2003 Pie Chart Labels
Bingo...that is exactly what is was, and what was needed for the fix.
Thank you very much!!!!! :thumb:
