It's not a new thing, but it's underused, underdeveloped and something potentially groundbreaking in my opinion.
Now suppose there was a great comfortable force feedback mouse with drivers that would also make the mouse vibrate for desktop usage. When hovering an element for example.
Would you be interested in such a device?
Probably not.
I searched for coptic mice, to see what you were talking about....and didn't find much.
However, when I searched for the right thing, I did find a bit. Frankly, I'm still unimpressed. There have been attempts to replace the mouse for a couple decades now, and this is just one more failed attempt. Do I really want some bulky object occupying space on my desk? What does it provide for me? The ability to work in 3D, or with feedback for actions I take? That doesn't impress me. I can't think of a single thing that would be made better by it. I can think of things that would be made different by it, but not better.
It may be useful for people with visual impairment. I personally don't see much use for having feedback when the pointer is over something etc.
Wouldn't it just smack up and down against the desk and make a horrible and distracting noise? Much like the skulls of my colleagues when they annoy me.
Could take pron to a whole new level, now that I think about it.
I don't think that's a new invention.
If it vibrated on hitting backspace in an empty textbox then Yea, you could put it by your crotch and repeatedly smash backspace.
