Is there some way to have posts from a user not show up on a thread when I view it, some kind of ignore function for posts? There is a particular user who habitually posts completely irrelevant and idiotic content without thinking and it's getting on my nerves. I don't want to report him (can't really report stupidity). But I'd pay real money if his posts could just disappear from my browser.

No, I am not aware of a function that will do this.
The best approach would be to report the issue, so that if needs be, we can take care of it.

Also, if their posts really are irrelevant and idiotic, you can report them and we can decide if they ought to be dealt with.
