Who remembers Gigantor, the Thunderbirds and Speed Racer?
Anyone remember the Thunderbirds with those puppet actors? You could sometimes see the strings. I thought the different aircraft and various contraptions they had were pretty cool. Then there was Gigantor the space age robot. I can still remember that song. And of course Speed Racer. I could only watch that on VHF so it never came in very good. Memories from when I was a kid.

Yeah, I used to watch them when I was younger.
Re: Who remembers Gigantor, the Thunderbirds and Speed Racer?
I'm not quite old enough for that. One of my favorite shows was Vision On with Pat Kesel and Tony Hart. I wish I could find it on DVD or something, I would gladly pay for it, but I think a lot of the reels got lost or destroyed. I did find one episode on youtube.

I used to Watch 'Take Hart" and 'Hartbeat' the follow up shows from Vision On with Tony Hart when i was young, they dont make em like that any more !

Re: Who remembers Gigantor, the Thunderbirds and Speed Racer?
I watched Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd and Daffy Duck and Yosemite Sam and the Road Runner and Foghorn Leghorn and such when I was young.
They definately don't make 'em like that any more.
Who remembers "Looney Tunes"?
Re: Who remembers Gigantor, the Thunderbirds and Speed Racer?
Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies and anything else they were called were my favorite cartoons. I watched them for years!! All this stuff about them being too violent I don't buy (maybe for some kids they are too violent, but I never (almost never) copied them. I saw a clip of the writers acting out scenes one time. It looked like they were having a ball!!

I watched all of those too except for Foghown Leghorn. Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner I liked especially. The Road Runner cartoons were very creative. I remember that one where the coyote took some special potion so that he could run really fast and wherever he did the ground would start burning. That was really cool. The coyote would always be using Acme this and Acme that to try to catch the Road Runner.
Re: Who remembers Gigantor, the Thunderbirds and Speed Racer?
I liked the one where the coyote had a catapult and no matter where he stood it got him.
Re: Who remembers Gigantor, the Thunderbirds and Speed Racer?
wikipedia actually has a page for Acme.

Where I live I see road runners on a regular basis. They make a sort of clicking sound I learned from listening to them.
Here's the wikipedia page on Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wile_E....nd_Road_Runner
It lists every cartoon and when it was released.

I actually found it with google - amazing what you can search for (my kids use this verb "search up" now - instead of "look up" - weird...)
My earliest memory of a cartoon was Eight man (really 8th man - but I was too young for those details)

But Courageous kat and minute mouse - that I remember really well.

That link has the song - but without the words - gotta find a better link...
