Addin is disconnected during update
Hi!
I've made a small vb-program (.dll-file) which is installed in Outlook on several pc's as an addin.
When I make a new version of it, and update the .dll-file (which is placed in a folder on a network drive), it is being disconnected from several pc's, and I have to add it to these machines one again.
Does anyone know, if there is a way to avoid the disconnecting?
- Thanks in advance
Re: Addin is disconnected during update
How do you disconnect a dll from a PC? How do you connect a dll to a PC?
Re: Addin is disconnected during update
I use the add-ins-menu in Outlook to add the dll to Outlook (File -> Options -> Addins, -> choose COM-Addins)
Re: Addin is disconnected during update
I haven't done any add-ins for Outlook, maybe someone else may know the best course of action.
The only thing I can think of would be to create two dlls. One add-in that you "connect" to outlook which calls code in another dll that you can recompile as needed.
Re: Addin is disconnected during update
Thank You MarMan for the suggestion.
I tried it out, but I cannot make it work this way....
...but it was worth a try.
