Want to buy monitor that would be good to use when beta testing an application

I'm doing beta testing on an application I've develped and a lot of the issues that I've run into had to do with screen resolution. I'd also like to see how my application looks on the higher resolution monitors. I have an old emachines monitor that only goes up to 1280 x 1024 for the highest resolution.

Any recommedations about a good monitor would be for my situation? If it was one where I could switch between lots of different possible setups so that it would be like having a number of different monitors that would be good. I'm not looking for a super big screen. I had a Visio 26" TV I sold that could be used as a monitor and now I wish I hadn't sold it. I don't watch TV anymore but it would have made a good monitor.

It really depends on what you want/need, and how much you are willing to spend...

You mentioned your 26" TV, with the smaller lower end TVs you have to look at the resolution. You can get a 32" TV now adays for <$300, but they only goto 720p resolution... You can get them at a higher resolution, but you are going to probably pay >$400 for a 32" with a 1080p resolution.

You also need to make sure your video card supports the higher resolution, most newer ones do.

You could also go for a smaller 1080p screen.

I decided on an HP 2211. Got it for $ 197.52. It has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. I was looking for something that had that high of a resolution.

So far I like it a lot. Nothing to complain about except for a very thin scratch line that my girl claims she had no part in, but was not there when I got it.
