Re: [serious] New Car !!!
I'm not familiar with Alto. Where do they make it? Are there any cars made in India? Also how does Rs. 3.33 Lakhs translate into US $.

No there are no cars made in India. They are still riding donkeys, horses, bullock carts, elephants and camels. Some people ride tigers. Show offs!
3.33 Lakhs is anywhere between 7,000 and 8000 US Dollars.

Does it support playing MP3 files? How about music from external flash drives?

Only MP3/WMA ! There is another version that supports USB. But I didn't choose that one. :) It's about Rs. 6700 for the system, which excludes the speakers. And for the speakers: front = Rs. 1350 and rear(6" oval shape) = Rs. 3400
We did several coatings also:
- Under body coating (Rs. 3500+)
- Teflon body coating (Rs. 5000+)
- Internal Panel Protection (Rs. 1750+)

Re: [serious] New Car !!!
You should have gone for the Alto K-10 that's the latest sensation. It's got a bigger engine and better performance overall.
Anyways now that you have purchased the car, congrats for buying one of the most selling cars in India.
The AC consumes some of the engine power. When climbing hills with a full load of passengers, the AC may be sapping some engine power and the car may not climb, or may overheat.
If you are a newbie in the field of cars, I suggest you read up some advice from the net or friends who already own cars.
Stay away from fancy mods, and most importantly read your owner's manual thoroughly.

If you want good advice on automobiles, join an automobile forum. While there may be auto geeks here as well, the quantity and quality of advice you will get here would be no comparison to a dedicated automobile forum. Just as you wouldn't expect to get good software advice on the auto forum :)

I am a member at a forum named Team BHP (www.team-bhp.com/forum). However I am neither proclaiming it to be the best, nor implying you to join it. Just merely mentioning it.

Their policy seems to be little weird. They have two questions in the registration page:
- Why I choose this site
- And, what's my opinion about their policies
For the first one, I answered that, i'm a newbie in car field and wants to deal with and to have help on cars.
And for the second, I said that, their policies are different and I haven't seen them in any other forums.
Thus, they rejected my membership :p

Re: [serious] New Car !!!
Yes, I have heard people upset over their policy for admission to the membership, some have been totally pi*sed.
However, my membership was accepted in the first stroke (this was before I discovered the importance of the answers) and I have been generally happy with it.
Keep trying :)
