I've just had a forum idea that I think many of us would find really useful. (Well I would)
The idea is a series of translation forums (fora?).
So say I've got - for example - a 200 word Yahoo description of my site or a web page describing my product etc.
I post a rough description on say the French branch of the forum and someone who speaks French (and is looking for an English 'translation') responds. I translate my site using http://world.altavista.com/ so that he does not have to make a "cold" translation and send it to them and they polish up the French so that it does not come out like something out of 'Allo 'Allo. In exchange I do the same for them and we all extend the reach of out projects in Europe
Useful?

Well, I see what you mean and it might be useful. But why here? this is a VB/programming site?

Good point!
I was specifically thinking of translating my VB programs menus, readme.txt, Yahoo entry etc. I guess this all makes more sense if you are in Europe as most of the people who might want to use your programs probably don't speak your language (well not every day anyway).
Makes me think that there could even be an on-line resource which contains VB resource files for the standard set of menu commands (Edit/File/View etc) - then just by substituting a file you get a new language version.

I think that is an awesome idea. I doubt the administrator(s) here would do that here though. But if you ever find a site like that could you inform me about it?
