I have a Computing Scale PC-100 the same as the one from the link below:

Also i have Fiscal Cash Register, model: SY-50

My question is the following: How do i connect these two communicate with each other and with the computer so i don't have to use scale and cash register both each time when i sell something. Currently i first use the scale and then i enter measurement and code in the cash register.
Please tell me how much programming is involved here if it matters at all. Thanks

Check with the manufacturer's documentation.

Well, according to the manual on the same site; if you have the optional RS232 DB9 port, it communicates via RS232; i.e. standard computer serial port.

Unfortunately, the manual is pretty poor because while they explain that you need the RS232 port to communicate with the outside world, they don't tell you any of the commands you'd need to get data from the scale. Since they tell you how to configure it for many various ECR (Electronic Cash Registers) most likely, these use some type of standard. You'd have to investigate to find one. Since the manual claims configuring the RS232 port to use the "NCI General Interface" is common to most P.O.S. systems, I'd Google that and see if you can get any info on this "NCI General Interface" to find the command set.

Actually i have no idea what to search. It's not well documented as you mentioned and moreover they do not provide any kind of support.

The documentations is so poor that you can't even call it so. :(

As I mentioned, it sounds like there are several different "modes" you can put the scale in. I'm willing to bet that somewhere on the internet easily accessible, is good documentation of some of these modes. I would search for that because that is what is going to tell you how to talk to the scale.
