I'm working on a program for law enforcement. I'm wanting to issue two types of licenses for the program - Yearly, and perpetual. I have absolutely zero knowledge in this area, however, and I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of some good reading material.
I would recommend not trying to implement it yourself. Doing so would be time-consuming and most likely not as secure as an existing solution. I've previously used Infralution Licensing System, which was relatively inexpensive and quite easy to use. You can spend more if you want a greater level of security. For a commercial application, buying a licensing component is an investment.
