BSOD Upon Install of VB.NET
Hi Folks,
A few months ago I installed Visual Basic 2008 directly from Microsoft. It worked great, but immediately when I shut down my computer I got the Blue Screen of Death...and have been getting it ever since.
Last week I uninstalled VB2008 and also rolled back system restore to before the VB install. No difference, I'm still getting the BSOD.
Could be just chance that the BSOD message started happening at the same time as the VB install. But, before I really dig into this (I haven't even dissected the BSOD message yet, as detailed on the various BSOD help messages I have read this morning) I wonder if anybody can tell me if this is a common problem with a VB install or not? And if so, what should I look for as to a possible fix.
Thanks!
Fred

That would be my guess...yes.
I suspect you are encountering some type of hardware issue and the error message on the BSOD should enable you to trace it back to its source.

It's the hardware. Test your memory and see if your CPU doesn't overheat (clean it up from dust).

Thank you folks, I'll start digging

Ok, not to belabor the point....but I've been working on this and am not finding the answer, so here is a screenshot, just in case it is something related to VB:

I started getting the BSOD immediately after installing VB.NET, and tho I've gone back and uninstalled everything, and rolled the computer back to before that install, I'm still getting a BSOD at shutdown
Could VB have added anything to my computer that I'm missing by simply rolling back?
Thanks! :)

Wow, it's a deal! :)
(hopefully the file uploaded....)
Well, it didn't, "Invalid File" -- so I'll upload to my site and link:

Give that a shot, from last night's BSOD on shutdown.
Thanks,!
