If you're into gaming, might want to get a better graphics card.

True, I'm thinking of getting this one instead:

It has a terrible case design though.

What's your thoughts for the laptop's primary use?

My thought is : it is usually better to go with a smaller foot print. A screen size of 17.3 on a laptop is over kill. It might be better to buy an external monitor that will give you as big a display as you can afford.
I prefer to have a light weight laptop, one that I can carry without having the need to pump iron.
Then again, that's my thought. You should go with what you're comfortable with. :D

Alienware Gaming Laptops ....
Re: Should I buy this Laptop?
That 17.3 inch one I posted justed seemed too big.
So I ended up buying a 16" one instead:

Re: Should I buy this Laptop?
You sure didn't spend much time shopping around. I was going to recommend a core-i5 model with 8gb of ram and 1gb of video memory that is selling for $900.
I find the customer reviews kind of funny. One guy complained the keyboard wasn't backlit. I think the only manufacturer that makes them is alienware.
Also this is the core i7 using the new socket. I has to be because it's using dual-channel instead of triple-channel memory. A sure sign of this is the 4gb of ram.

What was the laptop you were going to recommend?
I'm not sure if i5 + 8 gb is better or worse than i7 + 4 gb.

It was an asus. I don't know the exact model and it may have been on sale. I think it was a k-52 with an optional memory upgrade.
