Enjoy! :)
This wednesday it becomes publically available :)
Most waited release. I also got notification from Microsoft
Cool! Although, I doubt I would need you the programs in VS2010 but you never know. I might need it latter on in my programing course though.
Just seen some reviews on this from various MSDN subscribers and the general consensus is: Its a hell of a lot faster than the previous BETA releases! Which sounds good to me :)
Part of the reason for hte delay in releasing was to fix some big performance issues. Looks like it paid off big time for them. :)
Public release of the RC is tomorrow.
Downloading as I type :)
Been watching some of the videos from here:

Loving the "Generate from Usage feature"!!
Gary
Just downloading it now as well, first time I've ever seen an MS download come in 4 parts though :S
EDIT: Oh there is a link to the full 2 GB ISO as well on there, cool.
Are you aware of any differences between VS Ultimate & VS Professional?
Ultimate?
VS Ultimate is 2 editions higher than Pro so I would imagin there's a few differences between them, what those differences are exactly I'm not sure but it looks like Ultimate has a lot of server side dev tools that ultimate doesn't.
Check if it mentions it on the site Rob linked to.
From the site Rob linked to:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate simplifies solution development, lowering risk and increasing return. Tools for every stage of the lifecycle, from design and development through test and deployment, let you unleash your imagination and deliver impactful solutions. This download is an ISO image that can be burned to blank media for installation.
Damn, I just got Visual Studio 2008 Pro. I hope this will also go up on DreamSpark :D
EDIT: Damn, my access was revoked since I'm now out of school :(. They had the beta up so I can only assume they'll get the full version at some point.
Our shop has a subscription and now I have access to VS2010 RC Professional Version.
The guy who installed it wanted to know which version I wanted.
I am not sure of the differences, but I suppose Professional is good enough for most things, that I plan to do.
Hey,
You might want to take a look at the following site:
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudi...0/default.mspx
Shows the differences.

I also found, this has an expiry date on it.
Woot! its available for bizspark. Also is .NET 4.0 RC too?
that's correct. Currently it is just the Beta 2. Probably they will add the RC later (i guess).
Wonder which edition will get mobile dev support later on? You just need Pro or above with 2008.
Smart Device Development:
Quote:
Because Visual Studio 2010 does not support Smart Device Development, you cannot use the following features: .NET Compact Framework projects, Visual C++ device projects, smart device CAB projects, Device Emulator and Device Emulator Manager, testing tools for device projects, and Device Security Manager.
Yeah, I am eagerly waiting to see the mobile development capabilities, and also the release of Windows Mobile 7!!

Windows Phone 7 Series
My bad, haven't got used to the new name yet :)
