IPNATHLP and random crashes
Whenever playing Flash games online (and Java games, too), my computer will shut down in that crashy sort of way (meaning instantly, no prompt, message, or blue screen) after 30 minutes to 2 hours of use. Then it won't start back up again for a while, between 20 seconds and 5 minutes. I check the event log and, right at the time of the crash, there's an error with IPNATHLP saying "The DHCP allocator has disabled itself on (my IP address) because it is outside of the ***.***.***.*** - ***.***.***.*** scope." and some troubleshooting options. What's causing it?
Re: IPNATHLP and random crashes
What kind of a computer do you have?
Are there any consistencies with respect to the individual games that you play? In other words, if I play game A my computer crashes after a couple of hours but that never happens if I play game B?
Re: IPNATHLP and random crashes
1) Which browser are you using? Try a different browser.
2) What version of adobe flash player are you using? Does it support AS3?
Also check out this link.... I am sure this will keep you busy for a while :D

Re: IPNATHLP and random crashes
I've used IE and Google Chrome, but I forgot to mention it also happens when I'm downloading stuff off iTunes, so I don't think it's flash-related.
I have a 2.97GHz Pentium 4 CPU (used to be overclocked, but not any more), 1.5GB RAM, OEM Windows XP. Apart from adding 1GB RAM, it's completely unchanged. ~5 years old.
Re: IPNATHLP and random crashes
Oh and games that seem to use more CPU and Flash crash usually within 30 minutes (such as Wake Up The Box). RuneScape crashes after 1-2 hours. Vector TD: 1.5 hours.
Most games crash eventually, but I don't play a lot of games and I don't play them very long.
