run a remote application..

how can i run a remote application and pass a parameter on it?

I think you are going to have to provide more information than that before anyone is going to be able to help you.

Clarify what you mean by remote? Are you talking about on a remote mobile device, or on a desktop machine? How are you connecting to two devices?

lets just put it this way.. i have an application in desktop and try to run it by a mobile application. i want to pass a parameter on my desktop application. I am connected in the network via wifi.

Take a look at RAPI - I know you can start PPC programs for the desktop, but I can't remember if you can do it the other way.

You could write a web service to kick the program off.

You could write a file on the remote machine, and have a 'filewatcher' program kick off a program when it sees the file. Or you could supply your command in the file.

You could write a socket server on the PC and write instructions to it from your device.


That's a start :)

Are you talking about an application on the desktop that you have created, or are you talking about a 3rd party one?
