How to Promote / Push / Sell your software / or the Business altogether?

Hi Guys,

Any of you have any tips on pushing a software to the market?

I've already submitted to many sites and have a steady download rate, but not a great deal of income and I know there could be but need more marketing.

How could I sell the business overall ? i.e the whole source code etc.... So for example where Microsoft/Google acquires other small companies. Shall i approach them? or is there a certain order/place to place your business on sale?

Any help would be appreciated.

I dont think Microsoft or Google will want to buy your company unless you have a hell of a lot of users :) As for improving marketing, what marketing are you doing at the moment? Do you have any adverts for your software on popular websites or google ads etc?

I do publish it around google adwords and bing adcenter, but then again i do have a very limited budget...
So its an ON/Off thing.

This product can sell big, but I need an investor, to open doors etc... to promote this. The problem is, being able to inform people that this thing exists!
Who ever tries it loves it but need to access a wider audience.

Why? Free advertising :D

If fairness if you cant tell us what it is your not really promoting it that well. Hell I tend to tell everyone my ideas let alone my finished products!
