[RESOLVED] Program not responding
hey guys, i recently switched from windows xp, to windows 7 ultimate.
i am using VB6 portable, but when i run in on windows 7, and i try to open up one of my forums, VB6 stops responding, and after a minute or two, it closes. (even if i run as administrator)
is this because it isnt compatible with windows 7? if so, can someone post a link for a compatible VB6?
Thanks,
TsterT
Re: Program not responding

yes.
im pretty sure its windows 7 doing this, cus my friend using vista can load them perfectly.
but i can play it, i can open the project, but i just can't open a form to edit it without vb6 not responding
Re: Program not responding
hmmm. That chould be a problem. Ummm, check to make sure that the form file is not corrupted, or if it exsists. If that isnt the problem, im sorry, i dont know.
Re: Program not responding
well, its not just 1 form, its all of them lol.
ill look through the forms right now and make sure they are all normal, if not, i can always take the files off my other comp
Re: Program not responding
alright, well i got the errors to go away, but the forms still wont open when i try to open them
Re: Program not responding
do you think getting vb6 pro would solve this problem?
i was thinking about getting it anyways
Re: Program not responding

It might help - because there could be anything added to (and many things removed from) the 'Pirated' edition that you are currently using.
You will find it hard to get hold of a legal copy of VB6 (aka VB1998) because it is so far out of date - but you can legitimately get VB2008 for free: www.microsoft.com/express
Unless you have an extremely good reason for wanting to use VB6, I strongly recommend using VB2008 instead.
