Yes it is possible using some CSS/javascript tricks. This site uses similar technology...Using AJAX you could save the information pretty easily.
Although to figure it out, they have to know a site beforehand. Like they wouldn't know you've gone to like mydadwontheinternet.com or something.

Could they have simply meant they can see the last 10 pages you browsed on their website? Non-technical clients will misspeak this sorta stuff all the time...
Otherwise, just tell them you were doing competitor research.
