Code:MyDate = Format(Now, "dd/mm/yy")
myDate = Format(Now, "mm/dd/yy")
Why does this not want to work - nothing is displayed!!
<%
dim date
date = now
%>
<html>
<head>
<title>test</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>the date is <%=date%> </p>
</body>
</html>
Are you using this in an HTML or asp page?
To use script, you have to put it in asp and have IIS running on your pc.
I put your code in asp and it worked fine.
I'm a real idiot!!! Thanks.
Maybe I'm being stupid again, but I get this error.. if I just use mydate = now it works fine!!
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'Format'
new_page_3.asp, line 2
Here's my code
<%
myDate = Format(Now, "mm/dd/yy")
%>
<html>
<head>
<title>test</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>the date is <%=mydate%> </p>
</body>
</html>
Try using FormatDate instead of Format
Nope, get the same error....
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'FormatDate'
myDate = formatdatetime(now, 2)
The second param passed to formatdatetime is the format setting:
0 =Display a date and/or time. If there is a date part, display it as a short date. If there is a time part, display it as a long time. If present, both parts are displayed.
1 = Display a date using the long date format specified in your computer's regional settings.
2 = Display a date using the short date format specified in your computer's regional settings.
3 = Display a time using the time format specified in your computer's regional settings.
4 = Display a time using the 24-hour format (hh:mm).
Thanks Steve, this works great!!
