Nick Griffin on Question Time
So, did anyone watch it? Did you laugh with glee as the panel and audience tore him a new one or splutter in outrage as the BBC took a blatently partisan aproach? Did you think he shouldn't have been allowed on there at all?
I think most regulars can probably guess where I stood on this one.
Re: Nick Griffin on Question Time
I watched it ans it was rather amusing. It wasn't question time; as they were all picking on Nick Griffin. There was little / no debate on any other subjects; so I don't think that Question Time was the appropriate setting.
TBH I don't understand why people see him as a threat, I just find him rather offensive. The country would have to be in a pretty bad way for some racist loony like that to be primeminister.
Re: Nick Griffin on Question Time
Is there a youtube version?

It's on BBC IPlayer

No, it wasn't was it? About 5 minutes in David Dimbleby, who's supposed to be impartial, absolutely nailed him to the floor about his previous quotes. It all went a bit Paxman.
The thing that surprised me most, though, isn't that the program was so partial but that anyone, Nick Griffin particularly, expected anything else. One of two things was going to happen:-
1. He plants a bunch of supporters in the audience and they hijack the show with their opinions or
2. His supporters don't turn up in which case the audience is full of people who hate him (there really are only two possible positions you can take on the BNP) and those people hijack the show instead.
I did think the rest of the panel were a bit weak, though. It was only really Dave and the audience who pinned him down.

Well, that's your own fault for moving to the colonies. We get proper tele over here you know. Bloody immigrants. :)
If you go to youtube and search for QuestionTime NickGriffin it comes back with loads of results but they're all broken into 10 minute chunks so I won't bother trying to post a link.
(p.s. just in case anybody doesn't get the 'bloody immigrants' line above and thinks I'm just being rude: I'm parodying Nick Griffin. I quite like immigrants. You make good food.)
Re: Nick Griffin on Question Time
This is the part, where you post a UK proxy server address!
Re: Nick Griffin on Question Time

Re: Nick Griffin on Question Time
I didnt see it but I remember there being a thread on here about it a while ago so I was going to ask how it went - did he basically get slaughtered by everyone else?
Re: Nick Griffin on Question Time
In all honesty, when I first heard about him (not a big politics buff), I thought "well, British jobs for British workers seems to be mentioned by all parties, I don't see the issue". After looking in to what he actually thinks/believes such as homosexuals being creepy and for a specific time; not believing in the holocaust, I found out how much of an idiot he actually is.
I heard he was mostly mocked on Question Time.

Pretty much

That's one of the BNP's tricks, have some policies that seem perfectly reasonable to the average man, so if you don't bother to look past them they seem ok.

Yep, and one that got magnificently exposed on the show.
Some people were worried that allowing the BNP on Question Time would act as a launching platform for them, much like appearing on a similar French Show acted as a launch pad for Le Penn's Front National in the 90's. The difference was that Le Penn was quite open and honest about his position so TV exposure just let him reach a few extra nutters that he'd otherwise have missed. For Griffin it was just a good opportunity to show up how duplicitous he is.
