Hi
I am looking for a way to stop anyone from downloading or installing
Applications on our computers at work except the admin, does anyone know how to lockout
The installation API in win98.
I'm coding in VB5 and my boss seems to think it
should be a simple matter.
(he's management not a developer what can I expect,
but he is on my but about it)

Dont Know how about coding it, but poledit on the windows CD may help.
Not really a VB sollution though
in this is it a network throughtout many PCs, or is it 1 PC that everyone huddles around? Well i think (but i don't think that well) if you had a timer that checked for programs such as Install or Setup, and then closed them immediately, maybe that would work. Or make a password box popup and the admin would know the PW. At my old work, they had fortres, and that was like that.
Fortres. We had that at school until we figured out the password. It was wretched. :shudder:
