Maintain a clean PC
Hi guys/Gals,
Many a time it is difficult to visualize how a setup created would work in a client machine. For this ofcourse we would need a clean system. One option is to format the sys after each installation of the proj. Is there any other way (without formatting) to have a clean sys to check setups?
Thanks in advance :afrog:

Re: Maintain a clean PC
I think maybe a system restore might work? At least for the registry stuff, but I don't know for sure.
You can also try a program like SandBoxie...

Re: Maintain a clean PC
I can only provide my experience... but our IT developed virtual machine images that we could copy to our local machine, then run. When ever we needed a clean environment, we would just grab a new copy of the VM image and run it. We would copy down several copies, allowing us to have clean environments for each of the clients that we worked on.

Re: Maintain a clean PC
Virtual PC supports optional "undo disks."
These are files that accumulate the changes made to virtual hard drives during sessions. When you "shut down" a VM you are prompted to either discard the contents of the undo disk or merge it into the VHD image.
