... would you want the people on this site, or any other, to be told ? I know it's a bit morbid but the point of the question is just how much do you value you "virtual" friends ?

i value all of my friends very much weather they are virtual or not, i would want them to know
Likewise!!
I was thinking about that a while back, and Yes I would like them to know....
But everyone knows im gonna die soon from my rusty spooning! :D
I was shoked when I read in the vbworld newsletter that Dax comes from the Indian town that got hit with the earthquake, so yes, I do.
Well, yes, they are still people. Just because you may never meet them face to face it doesn't mean that you are friends and that you would have no regards for their feelings. Well that's how i see it anyway.
I wouldn't care about my virtual friends as I would be dead (and wouldn't care about anyone).
Still, I would have thought that it would be highly unlikely that any members of the vb-world forums would be informed, were any of them to kick the bucket.
Perhaps I shall put it in my will: 'In the event of my sudden demise, please post a thread in the "Chit Chat" forum of VB world entitled "Another one kicks the bucket".'
[alex changes his will too]
Can you give us some sort of warning on that one ?
not too keen on ghosts myself :D
When I got in my car accident this weekend, I thought about that. I know a few people that would really notice if I wasn't posting anymore. Maybe some of the people who haven't been posting lately.....oh, never mind.
I would miss all of you if you weren't around. I would like to think I would be missed too.
I asked myself this same question a few weeks ago...I'd definitely want you guys to know. Remember the cliche: "Friendship knows no bounds".
Er.. actually I don't remember that cliché....
Yeah anyway, *Evil Cartman voice* I love you guys :D
Heh
I've thought about this topic a lot of times before. Especially about a year ago. before that I talked to a friend daily on ICQ, then I had to go for about a month or two without a computer, and I thought about what he may have thought happened to me. Well, when I finally gained access to a computer, I talked to him again. He thought I'd died or something and he was a bit worried, at that point, I'd only known him for about 3 months... it's been over a year since I first met him, and I still talk to him everyday, I really don't know what I would do if he "kicked the bucket", he is one of my best friends. I would probably be as sad as if it were family that "kicked the bucket". I really haven't thought about it much since that time a year ago, but if it did happen I would be devestated, as I would for most of the members of VBW....
...*Dennis wipes tear from eye*... ahh what the hell.. I love all you guys too :)... *sniff*..
I wondered if i had died would anyone i know online ever find out...but i would be dead after all so i think i wouldnt find out.
There was one person that i used to talk to on ICQ...but he started to go to uni..and never came online again..i have always wondered what happend to em...
i wonder how many people say yes just because these are the only ones that will be reading it. :);)
but yes i do care.

(If we stop hearing from you should I start looking in the hives at the edge of the garden?)
As for caring - you come looking for a few bits of VB code and end up finding this community of really nice people - I'm sure this isn't what Bill Gates had in mind for basic at all :)
